Ok everyone, short notice on this one, but we will be able to have a LAN on Saturday, March 21st after all.   Come celebrate the banishment of winter back to the southern realm with us in Seville from noon to night!  All you gotta do is bring some soda or snacks, and some money for dinner.

What are we playing this month?  In January we had some fun with some older games like Jedi Knight 2.  I could see that happening again, maybe some QuakeWars Enemy Territory.  I have my Confogl (L4D2) server working again, maybe?  We haven’t gotten to play Payday 1 or 2 yet but I still think that would be fun.  Maybe Ping Pong tournament…

I hope everyone had a good holiday, and a fruitful winter steam sale!  It looks like January 24th will be my only chance to get a good LAN in for a while, so let’s make it count!  Like always, the 24th is a Saturday and we can plan on pizza dinner for $5.  I still have quite a bit of soda from the last LAN, but soda donations are always welcome.

It would be nice to play some different games this time, maybe Payday: the Heist and Insurgency, Serious Sam 3 would be a hit, and I have some Chivalry: Medieval Warfares to give away as well.  Santa visited and left us a brand new Ping Pong table to enjoy so make sure you come early and enjoy that.  It’s a full size table which is quite a bit larger than the old one, so I’m not sure if it will stay out the entire time.  We’ll have to see how much room it takes up with the rest of the LAN running at the same time.

Well you guys didn’t make it easy to choose a date, but it looks like October 11th is going to be the best date for the LAN Party.  This month features our new website and mailing list system!  Once registered on the list, the system will send out personalized invitation emails.  Click on the appropriate link to tell us if you can make it to the party!  Dinner this month will be pizza again, plan on bringing $5 to take part.  We are also running low on soda after our Quake on the Lake event in August.  We have plenty of Pepsi and Diet Coke, but we’re requesting a snack or soda donation from attendees.   Mountain Dew, 7-Up, Root Beer, bottled water are all great choices.

I will be working (for the fourth time) on getting a tournament-style Left4Dead2 confogl server running, and hopefully we can play that as our featured game.  Confogl removes medkits and high-power guns from the game and generally makes it easier for the infected side to take down survivors.  It also forces 1 tank per map, and everyone has to play tank once.  How far can your team make it?  We can also plan on some Orion Dino Horde, probably some Pirates, Knights and Vikings, and whatever else you want to play!
